AOK-Kitajade 2016: totally booked for the first time!
The German cup final barely a week in the past, the confetti still ever present in the stadium infield: Only six days after Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund fought for the German Cup, the Olympiastadion Berlin was taken over by day-care children from Berlin.
2,500 children (another new participation record) from over 100 kindergartens were in the spotlight as brilliant sunshine flooded the Olympiastadion Berlin. For three hours the world famous blue track and the probably best maintained pitch turned into a playground as the stadium was taken over by children.
Great sport for our little ones
With a motion therapeutic concept laid out in six different stations – among them a Hertha BSC football station and a gymnastics station of the Berlin gymnastics federation – the AOK-Kitajade teaches children Olympic values like fairness and respect, while also communicating the joy of exercising.
Stress and pressure to perform? Never mind. All participants receive a gold medal and are accompanied all day by the mascots of Berlin’s professional sports teams (Herthinho, Ritter Keule, Fuchsi & Co).
