The executive committee felt Hamburg was best suited to enter the competition for Germany. The recommendation is not the DOSB’s official final decision, however, the official announcement – set to take place on March 21, 2015 at the DOSB General Assembly in the Frankfurter Paulskirche – is considered a formality.
The last word will rest with Hamburg’s citizens, as they will vote in a referendum on September 13, 2015, if Hamburg should or should not host Olympic Games in 2024.
